Syed Fahd Ahmed | Barrister & Solicitor

Fahd is a barrister & solicitor based in Toronto. He is called to the bar of Ontario. Fahd’s practice includes criminal & regulatory defence, and immigration law. Clients can book appointments to meet with him in-person or by online video conference as needed.

Fahd regularly appears before the Ontario Court of Justice (OCJ) for criminal matters. He has assisted on a variety of criminal related matters, including firearms, assault, sexual assault, fraud, mischief, threats, DUI, contempt, mareva injunctions.

Fahd completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in the English Common Law Section. Fahd was the recipient of several scholarship awards throughout his study. He realized early that he was drawn to social justice, humanized areas of law, and access to justice for marginalized communities. He conducted major research on Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program, and focused on advocacy. Prior to his call to the bar, Fahd trained as a Student-at-Law in a federal regulator’s busy prosecutions office. Having worked in two federal regulators (including a well-known professional discipline office) and a boutique law firm, Fahd is knowledgeable of public law and is passionate about helping people with various public law matters. He is able to use his passion for research and writing, and his strong analytical and communication skills, to guide clients through the various steps in their respective legal matters.

Prior to attending law school, Fahd completed a Master of Arts in political science at the University of Toronto’s (St. George) Department of Political Science. Before that, he completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at the University of Toronto (St. George), majoring in criminology.

Fahd is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers’ Association (CLA), Legal Aid Ontario, and the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto (SABA).

When he is not working, Fahd enjoys pursuing fitness goals, learning French, and spending time with family and friends. When he finds the opportunity, he also likes volunteering for causes he is passionate about.
